A DISTANT MEMORY

This is an interactive film–a psychological whodunit that involves a suspicious woman, an unlikely therapist, and a murdered friend.

Similar to the classic “choose your own adventure” books, the player makes decisions throughout the film, changing the consequences.

The film is hyper mediated, experimental, and utilizes different technologies–digital video, 35mm photography, and web interactions–to tell the story.

MY ROLE

Team Fear Itself, was composed of a variety of filmmakers, storytellers, artists, and UX/UI designers. Our goal was to deliver an interactive film experience that touched on themes of fear and psychological drama.

As the person with the most experience in filmmaking, I directed the film–guiding the overall vision, working closely with the screenwriter, the cast and crew, and overseeing the postproduction.

It was my role to help our team understand the nuances of the filmmaking process.
